Too much money spent on busing
I read with amusement the article about city buses getting back to normal ridership volumes. When was the last time anyone saw these buses even one-third full?
I went on the city website to try to understand the losses City of Woodstock taxpayers endure each and every year. This number is staggering. And less than a year ago, the city announced they want to add routes and more buses.
I have nothing against having a bus service in Woodstock. I would just like to see one that does not cost taxpayers as much as it does.
Thank you for fighting against the landfill
Municipalities may finally get the right to decide if they want a landfill under the proposed Bill 197. The waste management industry may think this will be an unimaginable setback for the province. However, I disagree.
If the solution must be a landfill, then a willing municipality would have to be found. A municipality could negotiate a more equal deal between the two sides rather than a few measly property tax dollars in return for accepting a landfill site.
