Last Sunday night’s Stronger Together, a multi-network 90-minute TV special, has raised more than $8 million for Food Banks Canada in just under a week.
That number represents one of the largest amounts ever raised as the result of a Canadian charitable TV show.
It’s also the most money raised through a text-to-donate channel in Canada in a short period, with more than $1.6 million raised in four days.
The all-Canadian special featuring musicians, athletes, actors, comics, and authors, still available on demand, also became the most watched (non-sports) Canadian-produced broadcast with over 12 million viewers tuning in at some point.
Canadians can continue to donate to Food Banks Canada by texting COVID to 30333 or visiting FoodBanksCanada.ca/StrongerTogether until May 26.
