It’s VON Week, and the community is invited to celebrate the healthcare team at VON Oxford.
The annual appreciation week runs from May 17 to 23, and this year’s theme is “VON Cares.”
“It is an honour to be able to recognize the staff of VON Oxford this week for their tireless contributions in keeping our clients and community safe during this time. The staff inspire me every day and I feel honoured to be part of this organization,” said John Goodman, president of VON Oxford’s community corporation in a statement.
The week helps illustrate the importance of home care in the healthcare system, and the impact of both VON Sakura House and VON’s residential and community programs. Now more than ever, VON programs keeping people safely at home can help lessen the burden on hospital and healthcare staff battling the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization said.
In Oxford, VON provides home and community care and runs programs including Meals on Wheels and adult day and overnight respite programs.
To help celebrate, the community is invited to acknowledge the VON team using the hashtag #VONCares. Find more information about VON’s Oxford programs here.
