With COVID-19 still very much present, there’s something nostalgic, and safe, about an old-fashioned drive-in.
Two local organizations continue their partnership this week with a second round of drive-in movie events in the Calgary area. After a successful run in July, Curiocity and YYC Food Trucks’ Motor Nights runs Aug. 12-16 at the Cochrane and District Ag Society grounds.
As cars enter the site, they pass by a line of food trucks where moviegoers can order before finding a parking spot. Or you can text in orders for car-side delivery once the shows have started.
The movie lineup for the week includes classics like E.T., Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Back to the Future, romcoms like Sleepless in Seattle and newer flicks like Mean Girls. Movies run at 3 p.m., 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., rain or shine.
