Beginnings Family Services will host the Canadian improv comedy troupe The Fidgets Feb. 22 from 7 to 10 p.m. in the auditorium at Woodstock Collegiate Institute.
Beginnings Family Services will welcome the Sarnia-based improv comedy troupe, The Fidgets, to entertain and help fundraise for the community service.
The Feb. 22 show at Woodstock Collegiate Institute auditorium will help support the programming at Beginning, a not-for-profit community service that provides pregnancy counselling and adoption services.
The Fidgets is an improv team comprising Dave Lane, Chris Reid and John D. Hollingsworth, who, for the past decade, has performed throughout North America. The group also recently launched its comedy special, No Evil Live, on Amazon Prime. The troupe has been endorsed by Canadian comedians such as Colin Mochrie and Red Green for their family-friendly entertainment.
“It’s a deadly combination for a successful event,” Reid said. “Clean enough to bring your entire family, so funny that your face will be sore and unique enough to draw big crowds of curious people.”
The troupe has two rules – making people laugh and having a clean enough show to have grandma come to the performance.
The one-night show came together after The Fidgets had time in the schedule between an East Coast tour early in February and a West Coast jaunt in early March.
Hollingsworth said being able to help a community service was important to them.
“When Beginnings asked us to come in and entertain for the entire Woodstock community once again, it sounded like a load of fun,” he said in an email. “Beginnings Family Services offer pregnancy counselling and adoption services – they really help the community. We wanted to help them out,”
